A Little About Me
Hi, I'm Kara, the person behind Refresh – Strategic Business Support.
After spending many years in senior leadership roles, including as a Hotel General Manager and Head of Operations, I decided to put my experience, commercial knowledge and passion for helping businesses succeed to work in a different way.
I launched Refresh because I recognised that many business owners need more than advice or an extra pair of hands. They need someone they can trust to understand their business, share their ambitions, bring fresh ideas to the table and, most importantly, make things happen.
Today, I work alongside a diverse range of businesses, providing strategic, marketing and operational support. My work is incredibly varied, from developing marketing strategies, creating engaging content and strengthening brands to identifying growth opportunities, improving processes and managing projects. No two days are quite the same, and that's exactly how I like it!
I'm a natural problem-solver, a creative thinker and a doer. I love getting under the skin of a business, understanding its challenges and opportunities, and finding practical ways to make a real difference.
Having spent much of my career responsible for people, budgets, profitability and business performance, I understand what it's like to be accountable for results. That commercial mindset is something I bring to every client relationship.
What matters most to me is building genuine, long-term partnerships. I don't see myself as an outsider or simply another supplier. I become an extension of the businesses I support, celebrating their successes, challenging ideas when needed and caring about their progress as much as they do.
And the best part of working for myself? I get to collaborate with inspiring people, work across different industries and use everything I've learned throughout my career to help other businesses thrive.
