MEET THE CLIENT
Laura Bowyer runs The Affable Partnership, a business that comprises a team of esteemed experts who specialise in distinct sectors. They are dedicated to catering to the people and culture needs of SMEs throughout the United Kingdom. Their comprehensive range of services encompasses the review, development, implementation, and management of resources, ensuring complete compliance while instilling a culture that values each team member. With their wealth of experience spanning diverse industries, they offer a unique and comprehensive "all under one roof" approach. They offer high-quality solutions tailored to precise requirements.

Most people think an HR Consultancy would just offer legal advice on compliance. The Affable Partnership, of course, offer comprehensive legal advice, but they also focus on the employees' wellbeing with a full range of services designed to invest in the workforce, anything from their health and nutrition to more sensitive matters, such as managing menopause in the workplace.
Laura got in touch with me when she realised that she was too busy with client work to get the important 'back office' work done, work that was needed to assist her business's growth. We agreed that I'd support her working around 2 hours per week.
How We Work Together
I love working with Laura, she's full of creative ideas. not only to help her clients, but also within her own business.

After our first initial chat, I created a Trello board for us to work with. On this board I've saved all the documentation needed for Laura's easy access; produced a checklist for onboarding new associates; a list of weekly and monthly tasks; a list of ideas on how to improve the website; and then a list for all the ideas / tasks that Laura sends me via email or WhatsApp.

As much as the tasks on Trello never seem to diminish, I'm pleased that I created a 'Completed' list so I can see how much we've actually achieved!

I tend to run out of my hours before the end of the month, so when a new month arrives, I'm excited to get stuck back in again.

Here are a few of my 'Completed' tasks from our Trello board:

-
Created marketing content pillars along with ongoing content for posts and blogs
-
Optimised the website for SEO
-
Setup HubSpot to make leads more manageable
-
Produced content for the application for the Personnel Today's HR Awards, where Laura is now shortlisted as a finalist as HR Consultant of the Year 2024!

I'm excited to be part of such a forward thinking business. Coming from a career where I managed a team of 70 + staff, I worried that I would miss collaborative working now that I was self employed. I truly feel part of The Affable Partnership team, even if I'm not their full time employee. I think I was almost as excited as Laura when I heard she was a finalist for HR Consultancy of the Year!
